Steps to Becoming a Member* of the Unitarian Church of the Lakes
1. Attend our services on Sunday and become acquainted with our church community
2. Understand the Seven Unitarian Universalist Values which this church embraces.
3. Attend a New Member Orientation to learn more about Unitarian Universalism, our church and what the benefits and expectations are in becoming a member of our church. These orientations are offered in the spring and fall and registration is required. Watch this website for the next Orientation’s date.
4. Make a commitment to our church . All U.U. churches are self-funded so we rely upon financial and/or service in order that we may continue to operate.
5. When you are ready to make your membership official, contact the Membership Coordinator or another Membership Committee member and arrange a Sunday where you can sign the Membership Book during the Joys/Concerns portion of a service.
*Members must be 14 years or older
Membership Privileges
1. Gain the right to vote on important congregational issues
2. Serve on the church’s Board of Trustees. (Board of Trustees serve a 2 year term; not to exceed 3 terms)
3. Receive the UU World, a quarterly magazine from the Unitarian Universalist Association
